TransLink reported that June 13, 2026—Saturday of Vancouver's first-ever FIFA World Cup match—generated approximately 1,031,000 boardings across the Metro Vancouver transit network. This represents a 14% surge above the typical June Saturday average of 901,600 boardings, establishing the busiest stadium-event Saturday since the 2010 Winter Olympics. SkyTrain alone carried 447,000 passengers, a 25% increase over normal weekend volumes, while SeaBus ridership jumped 37% and bus usage rose 6.6%. The Australia vs. Turkey match at BC Place and the accompanying FIFA Fan Festival drove the record demand.
