Vancouver is gearing up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the first match scheduled for June 13 at BC Place. The city has implemented a series of new regulations effective from May 13, which will last for about ten weeks, until July 20.

According to CBC, the '2026 FIFA World Cup Regulations' will grant the Vancouver city government greater authority over public space management, advertising regulations, and noise control. The estimated direct costs for the city related to security measures are projected to be between CAD 261 million and CAD 281 million.
