BC NDP is Failing Surrey on Housing and Infrastructure
Share

Premier David Eby recently highlighted the government's investments in Surrey, including the construction of the new SkyTrain line and a new hospital. However, many residents feel that these efforts are insufficient given the pressing need for housing and infrastructure in the rapidly growing city.

During a groundbreaking ceremony on May 8, 2026, Eby emphasized the importance of infrastructure spending, citing projects like the new Cloverdale hospital and the expansion of Highway 1. Yet, he overlooked the cancellation of eight supportive housing projects that would have provided 954 units for vulnerable populations, as reported by Mayor Brenda Locke.

As a seasoned real estate agent in Greater Vancouver, I see the implications of these infrastructure and housing challenges firsthand. The current market dynamics suggest that buyers may face a tough landscape, while sellers could benefit from limited inventory. It's crucial for all parties to stay informed and adapt to these evolving conditions.
